Rosemary Kaminsky (nee Riordan) 85 of Whiting, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank B. Kaminsky who passed away on February 1, 1990; loving mother of Diane Kaminsky, Thomas (Laine) Kaminsky, Gregory (Jill) Kaminsky and Steven (Julie) Kaminsky;  cherished grandmother of Tommy (Hayley) Kaminsky, Matthew (Maria) Kaminsky, Lauren (Eric) Fruth, Katy, Maggie, Nicholas and Aubree Kaminsky; adoring great grandma of Josephine, Lily, Liam, Levi, Ella, Kimmy and Noah; dearest sister-in-law of Tonie Riordan; dear aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Tumidalsky, Kay Rosenbacker and Marguerite Branard and a brother, Bill Riordan.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 10:30am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting; a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting with the Rev. John E. Kalicky, C.PP.S., officiating; interment, St. John Cemetery, Hammond; visitation at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 to 8:00pm. The St. John Rosary Society, together with members of the parish will offer prayers at the funeral home on Friday at 4:00pm.

Rosemary Kaminsky was born on November 22, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Nora (Enright) Riordan and was a resident of the Whiting-Robertsdale Community for the past 65 years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting, the St. John Rosary Society and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Assoc., BR. 81. Rosemary was a retiree of the George Rogers Clark High School Cafeteria with a service of 20 years. Active in the lives of her children and a great supporter of her grandchildren’s activities, Rosemary had also been a longtime member of the Clark High School Adult Booster Club. Devoted to her family, Rosemary will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
