Frank J. Stolarz, 68 of Whiting (Robertsdale), passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, December 2, 2017. He is survived by his best friend and companion, Jeanette Oprisko Stolarz; beloved father of Scott (Erika) Stolarz, Jeanine (Rick) Faulkner, Deanna Stolarz, Amy (Ken) Kaczmarek, Ann (Douglas) Bishop and Scott De Nardo; adoring grandfather of Alice, Isabella, Emily, Matthew, Gabriel and Olivia; and, cherished brother of Carol (Ed) Muszynski.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 10:30am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting, followed by 11:00am services at St. Mary’s Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church, Whiting with the Rev. Stephen Muth, officiating; cremation to follow; visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00pm; and, Parastas Service at the funeral home on Thursday at 6:30pm.
Frank Stolarz was born on January 6, 1949 in Chicago to Frank and Julia (Wozniak) Stolarz. He was a lifelong resident of the Calumet Region, active in many religious and community organizations. He was a member of St. Mary’s Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church, Whiting; the Whiting BPOE, Lodge 1273 (Memorial Service, Thursday at 7:30pm); the Knights of Columbus, Pope John XXIII Council 1696 (prayers Thursday at 5:30pm); the Sons of the American Legion, Whiting Post 80; the Amoco Oil Annuitants Club; and, the Indiana Society of Public Accountants. Frank received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the Calumet College of St. Joseph, and had also attended Indiana University Northwest. He retired from the Amoco Oil (BP) Whiting Refinery after 17 years of service, and was the owner and operator of Stolarz Accounting Services for over 50 years. He enjoyed golf and fishing. Frank requests that his passing be a celebration of his life, and asked that no one wears black. Devoted to his family and the Whiting – Robertsdale community, Frank will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him
