Obituary
Walter Serwacki, Jr., 66 of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at the Community Hospital, Munster. He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Betty (nee Hnath); loving father of Heather (Katlyn) McMahon, Megan (John) Jantelezio and Alexander Serwacki; cherished grandpa of Jacob and Taylor; dearest brother of William (Mary Beth) Serwacki and Roni Kristek; dear son-in-law of Ann Marie (late Bill) Hnath; dear brother-in-law of Eileen (Jeff) Riggs and William Hnath; nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 11:00am at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 118th St. and Atchison Ave., Whiting, with Vicar Tim Dilbeck, officiating; friends may meet with the family from 10:00am to time of services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on-line at www.baranfh.com.
Walter Serwacki was born on December 1, 1956 to Walter, Sr. and Florence Serwacki and was a lifelong resident of the Calumet Region. He was a retired computer programmer for the Federated Group, Arlington Heights, IL with a service of 19 years. Walter was very spiritual, enjoying meditation, yoga, reading self-help books, music and taking long walks. Devoted to his family, he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
