Walter Serwacki, Jr., 66 of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at the Community Hospital, Munster. He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Betty (nee Hnath); loving father of Heather (Katlyn) McMahon, Megan (John) Jantelezio and Alexander Serwacki; cherished grandpa of Jacob and Taylor; dearest brother of William (Mary Beth) Serwacki and Roni Kristek; dear son-in-law of Ann Marie (late Bill) Hnath; dear brother-in-law of Eileen (Jeff) Riggs and William Hnath; nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 11:00am at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 118th St. and Atchison Ave., Whiting, with Vicar Tim Dilbeck, officiating; friends may meet with the family from 10:00am to time of services. Walter Serwacki was born on December 1, 1956 to Walter, Sr. and Florence Serwacki and was a lifelong resident of the Calumet Region. He was a retired computer programmer for the Federated Group, Arlington Heights, IL with a service of 19 years. Walter was very spiritual, enjoying meditation, yoga, reading self-help books, music and taking long walks. Devoted to his family, he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
