Victoria Anna (Morando) Miles

Victoria Anna Miles (nee Morando) 74 of Whiting, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023 at St. Catherine Hospital, East Chicago. She is survived by her beloved husband of 24 years, James W. Miles; loving mother of Lisa (Scott) Blastick, Natalie (Rene Reyna) Silaghi and Robert (Joanne) Silaghi; cherished grandmother of Erica (Corey) Winheim, Thomas, Scott and Roxanne Blastick, Ariel Reyna, Olivia, Victoria, Emma, Ricky and Robby Silaghi. Victoria was the eldest of ten children born to the late Joaquin and Mary (Gonzalez) Morando and was the proud aunt of many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 10:00am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119^th St., Whiting; interment to follow, Ridgelawn Cemetery, Gary; visitation at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on-line at www.baranfh.com.

Victoria Miles was born on August 2, 1948 and was a longtime resident of Whiting. She was a graduate of Whiting High School, Class of 1966 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts Degree in social work from the Calumet College of St. Joseph. She was a retiree of the Indiana Department of Child and Family Services. Victoria was passionate about researching genealogy. She loved shopping and her cats, having a special place in her heart for her beloved “Papa Red” cat. Devoted to her family, she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
