Thomas John Zurawski

Thomas John Zurawski, 76 of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 12, 2025 at his residence. He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Liz Zurawski (nee Wright); loving father of Mickey Miller; cherished grandfather of  Aryka Miller, Aurora Miller, Aaliyah Hutton and Vincent Gonzalez; dearest brother of Frank (Rita) Zurawski, Yvonne (late Joseph) Johnson, Juanita (late Dave) Nelson and Naomi (Paul) Gebhardt; dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Hector and Carol Mora, Amy Mora and Brandon Mitchell and his caregiver, Carin Alexander.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, 11:00a.m. at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting; interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point; visitation at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on-line at www.baranfh.com.

John Zurawski was born on August 22, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois to Henry and Dorothy (Zawacki) Zurawski and was a graduate of the Chicago Vocational High School, Class of 1968. He was a proud US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and was a resident of Whiting for the past 33 years. He loved classic cars and was a founding member of Whiting’s “Cruise Nights”. He enjoyed gardening and Legos. A devoted husband and father, John will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Whiting Food Pantry, P.O. Box 591, Whiting, IN 46394, would be appreciated.
