Thomas M. Edge

Thomas M. Edge, 70 of Hammond, passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, February 28, 2025 at his residence. He is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Carol (nee Hinson); dearest step-dad of Joseph (Deanna) Bell, Brandon (Ebone’) Foster and Candiss Hinson; dear grandpa of Madison Foster, Jaida Anderson and De-Shawn Walker; cherished brother of James (Karen) Edge, Robert (Annette) Edge and Teresa (Charles) Garrett; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Thomas will be on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th Street Whiting; funeral services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 with a Mass of Christian Burial being offered at 10:00am  at Sacred Heart Church, 118th St., and LaPorte Ave., Whiting, with the Rev. Jay Nuthulapati, officiating; cremation to follow;  members of the parish will  offer prayers at the funeral home on Thursday at 6:00pm. Thomas Edge was born on January 5, 1955 to Joseph Paul and Lillian Noreen (Babbitt) Edge and was a lifelong resident of the Calumet Region. He was a graduate of Divine Heart High School, Donaldson, IN, Class of 1973 and was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Whiting. He was a retiree of the Inland Steel Co., (Cleveland Cliffs), East Chicago, with a service of 39 years and was an avid golfer. Devoted to his family, Thomas will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, 1250 Fourth St., Santa Monica, CA 90401, would be appreciated.
