Theresa M. (Bonchik) Zebracki

Theresa M. Zebracki (nee Bonchik), 89 of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2024 surrounded by her daughters at her home. She was the beloved wife of 58 years to the late Edward S. Zebracki who passed away July 1, 2012; loving mother of Susan (Bernie) Horvath, Kimberly (Timothy) Praski and Carol (Brad) Stelow; cherished grandmother of  Kelly (Morgen) Baker, Austin Praski, Trenton Praski and Cole Stelow; adoring great grandmother of Renee Baker; dearest sister of Bob (late Betty) Bonchik; many nieces, nephews and cousins; her canine companion, “Sophie"; special friend and caregiver, Ann Shelton.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 19, 2024 10:30am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting; a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00am at St. Adalbert Church, Whiting, with the Rev. Mark R. Peres, C.PP.S., officiating; interment, Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL; visitation at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00pm; members of the parish will offer prayers at the funeral home on Sunday at 4:00pm. Theresa Zebracki was born on August 14, 1934 to Frank and Mamie (Dobrowolski) Bonchik. She was a lifelong resident of Whiting and was a graduate of Whiting High School, Class of 1952. She was a member of St. Adalbert Church, Whiting and the Polish Women’s Alliance, St. Hedwig Lodge,  Theresa loved “Girls Night Out” with her daughters and spoiling her grandchildren and great granddaughter. She was devoted to her family and was a member of the “Best Mother’s Club”. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Adalbert Church, c/o St. John Rectory, 1849 Lincoln Ave., Whiting, IN 46394 or the Whiting Food Pantry, P.O. Box 591, Whiting, IN 46394, would be appreciated.
