A Celebration of Stanley’s Life will take place on Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 5:00 to 6:30pm at the American Legion Hall, 2003 Indianapolis Blvd, Whiting. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting.

Stanley Zimmerman was born on September 23, 1940 in Moline, Illinois and was a resident of Whiting for the past 10 years. A very talented pianist/organist, bringing joy through music to others was his passion. Stanley loved music, beginning playing at a very young age. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict attaining the rank of Yeoman 2nd Class and even took his talent across the seas where he entertained the troops in Viet Nam and the local Vietnamese with concerts and impromptu sessions on an organ he had brought with him from home. After spending many years in Wurlitzer and Hammond organ sales, Stan played the piano and organ across the Chicagoland area and tuned pianos in many homes. Throughout his travels, Stan gathered many friends and he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a member of the American Legion, Whiting Post 80 and the Church of the Atonement, Chicago. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Legion, Whiting Post 80, 2003 Indianapolis Blvd., Whiting, IN 46394, would be appreciated
