Ruth Ann (Perhach) Montalvo

Ruth Ann Montalvo (nee Perhach) 73 of Whiting, passed away peacefully on the early morning of Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Hobart. Beloved mother of Joan Ruth (Ivan) Montalvo; proud and loving grandmother of Alejandro and Amalia; former spouse, Jose Montalvo; cherished sister of Joseph (Luz) Perhach and Philip Perhach; dearest aunt of Ingrid Mendoza and Lisa Riffle; dear great aunt of Derek Mendoza, Nicholas and Nathan Riffle.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 11:00am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119^th Street, Whiting, with the Rev. Mark R. Peres, C.PP.S., of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting, officiating; interment to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond; visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 9:00am to time of services. Ruth Ann Montalvo was born on May 11, 1949 to Joseph and Ann Marie (Lipka) Perhach. She was a lifelong resident of the Calumet Region and was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association, Branch 81. She loved Whiting Park and walks out on the pier. Devoted to her family, Ruth Ann will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers and in honor of her love of animals, memorials to the Whiting “Gimme Shelter” (for pets) P.O.
