Roberta S. (Battista) Gaal

Roberta S. Gaal (nee Battista) 77 of Whiting, passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, November 28, 2021 at her residence. Beloved mother of Annmarie (Roger) Casillas, Joseph (Melissa) Gaal and Bryan Gaal; cherished grandmother of Joshua, Roger, Russell (Alicia), Eadyn and Arabella; adoring great grandma of Amelia, Baylee, Elaine and Hunter; dearest sister of Donna (Neil) O’Keefe, Linda (late Al) Kaiser, Sherry Vaughn and the late Barbara Tratar, Anthony, Benjamin and Paul Battista; dear aunt to many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Roberta’s Life will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 3:00 to 7:00pm at Battista’s Pizzeria, 220 S. Main St., Crown Point, IN. Roberta Gaal was born on June 14, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois to Paul and Helen (Reda) Battista. She was a graduate of Bowen High School, Chicago, Class of 1962 and was a resident of Whiting for over 40 years. Roberta loved to bowl and had participated in several leagues. She enjoyed dancing and listening to music (especially Elvis). Devoted to her family, Roberta will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
