Robert C. Buksar

    Robert C. Buksar, 72 of Whiting passed away peacefully Saturday, January 11, 2025 at his residence. He was the beloved son of the late Steve and Joann (Churosh) Buksar; loving father of  Sarah Enriquez and Matthew Buksar; cherished grandfather of  Dominic and Anthony Enriquez and Aubrey, Morgan and Caleb Buksar; former wife, Lynn Gazda; dearest brother of Carol (Jim) Hoelzel, Mary Jo Colucci, and the late Michael S. Buksar, Tim Buksar and Terri Decker; dear uncle of Adam Hoelzel, Jessica Martinez, Michael Colucci and the late Andy Colucci; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

    Private funeral services were held. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting; interment of cremains, St. John Cemetery, Hammond.  Expressions of sympathy may be placed on-line at www.baranfh.com.

    Bob Buksar was born in Hammond Indiana March 8, 1952. After graduating from George Rogers Clark High School, Class of 1970 and marrying his high school sweetheart, he and Lynn moved to Arizona in 1974.  He resided in the Phoenix area for 47 years. Recently, Bob decided to move back to his hometown. He had a passion for his 74’ Harley and the open road ahead. Bob loved to fix anything that was broken or needed “improvement”. He had a brilliant mind for carpentry, construction and mechanics and was always up for a fun game of cards. His clever, silly ways of gifting red tootsie pops will forever bring a smile to our faces. Love you Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Whiting Food Pantry, P.O.
