Richard A. Davidson, 67 of Hammond, passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at St. Catherine Hospital, East Chicago. He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Susan (nee Franklin); loving son of Dora (Powell) Smith and the late Robert Davidson; cherished brother of Robert Davidson, late Nancy (Mike) Bartos, Mardelle Germain, Becky (late Ed) Siska and Deborah (Steve) Medina; dearest son-in-law of Joan (late Damon) Franklin; adoring friend of Lisa Bishop; dear brother-in-law of Terry (late Ray) Falk and Sarah Franklin; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 10:00am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting, with Pastor David Kiesling of the Hessville Bible Church, officiating; interment to follow at Concordia Cemetery, Hammond; visitation at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Richard Davidson was born on June 27, 1958 and was a lifelong resident of the Calumet Region. He was a graduate of Whiting High School, Class of 1978 and was a 22 year veteran of the United States Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was an active member of Hessville Bible Church, where he served as a Deacon and was superintendent of Sunday School. He was currently employed at Hard Rock Casino, working in security. Richard loved the Lord, and he loved his country. He was the ultimate humorist and leaves behind a legacy of loyalty and compassion. He enjoyed reading The Bible, working jigsaw puzzles and above all spending time with his wife, whom he adored, and his family. Richard was a devoted husband, son, brother and uncle. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. (219) 659-4400.
