Richard Aguirre, 81 of Whiting, passed away peacefully on the early morning of Monday, January 31, 2022 surrounded by his family at his residence. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Peggy (nee Tomlinson); loving father of David (Cindy) DeWitt, Richard H. (Marsha) Aguirre and Regina M. (late Dawid) Czerwinski; cherished grandfather of eight; adoring great grandpa of eleven; many dear nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Richard will be on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 9:30 to 11:30am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting; private graveside services will be held at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point. Richard Aguirre was born on September 25, 1940 to Jesus and Regina (Avila) Aguirre and was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. He was a graduate of East Chicago Roosevelt High School, Class of 1959 and was a lifelong resident of the Calumet Region. He was a retiree of the Inland Steel Company, East Chicago, with a service of 30 years and was a member of the United Steel Workers, Local 1011. Richard enjoyed gardening and reading the Bible but above all, spending time with his most cherished family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
