Raymond Mesa

Raymond Mesa, 58 of Whiting, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Franciscan Hospital, Munster. Beloved son of Esperanza (Gutierrez) Mesa and the late Adalberto Ortiz; loving brother of the late Manuel (Georgina) Mesa, Luz Sofia Villa, Luis (Rafaela) Mesa, Bricia (Saul) Arambula; cherished uncle of Valida Najera, Marissa Mesa, Manuel Mesa, Jr., Marcelo, Ricardo and Enrique Villa, late Luis Antonio Mesa, Jeremy, Grisel, Sebastian and Adrean Mesa, Nicole, Nicholas and Kayla Arambula; adoring great uncle of Jonathan, Jerimiah, Jayden, Mason, Mia, Benjamin and Luciano; many dear aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 9:30am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119^th St., Whiting; a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting, with the Rev. Mark R. Peres, C.PP.S. officiating; interment, Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL; visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 to 9:00pm. Raymond Mesa was born on August 1, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois and was a resident of Whiting for the past 24 years. He was a graduate of George Washington High School, Class of 1983. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting and was an employee of Cenifax, Inc. with a service of 17 years. Raymond loved sports and was an avid Chicago Cubs, Bears and Bulls fan. Devoted to his family, Raymond will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
