Ozzie J. Moran

Ozzie J. Moran, 80 of Chicago (Hegewisch), passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Trinity Hospital, Chicago. He was the beloved husband of the late Janet M. (Hupp) Moran who passed away July 24, 2017; loving father of Tracy (Pete) Munt, Ozzie (Jody) Moran and the late Richard Moran; dear father-in-law of Sue Moran Tomky; cherished grandfather of Pete Munt, Rebecca (Alain) Quijano, Rachael Munt, Jake, Tommy and Luke Moran; adoring great grandpa of Olivia, Lucas, MaryAnna, Maximus, Quinn and Amelia; dearest brother of Nancy (John) Griffin, Carol Hicks and the late JoAnne Kilgore; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 10:00am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 119th Street and Lincoln Avenue, Whiting, Indiana, with the Rev. Mark R. Peres, C.PP.S., officiating. Visitation at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00am to time of services. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th Street, Whiting, IN. The Mass will be live-streamed at www.stjohnbap.org. Ozzie (Pacetti) Moran was born on July 1, 1944, son of the late Raymond and Mary (Singers) Moran. He was a lifelong resident of Chicago and was a retired firefighter for the City of Chicago. He was a member of the Chicago Firefighters Union, Local 2, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting, IN and the Indiana Harbor Yacht Club. He enjoyed boating, golfing and fishing. Devoted to his family, Ozzie will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. John School Endowment Fund, 1849 Lincoln Ave., Whiting, IN 46394, would be appreciated.
