Nancy M. (Adam) Mitchell

Nancy M. Mitchell (nee Adam) 76 of Whiting, passed away peacefully on the early morning of Tuesday, April 29, 2025 surrounded by her most cherished family at the Community Hospital, Munster. Loving mother of Kristen (Jim) Ledden, Kenneth (Kim Trzpacz), Joseph (Sarah Spudic) and Brian (Emily Meirwa); beloved grandmother of Trinity (JR.) Meza, Kaitlyn Trzepacz, James and Kolt Ledden, Adam Wright, Janice, William and Lucy Mitchell, Kaiden Meirwa-Mitchell, Ashlynn Brezene and Kiana Dominikovich; adoring great grandma of Julian Mitchell and Matteo Meza; dearest sister of Michael Adam, Cynthia (Larry) Peterson, Thomas Adam, Anthony (Cheryl) Adam, John (Michelle) Adam, Stephen (Cheryll) Adam, Christine Adam and Jeffery (Wendy) Adam; many dear nieces and nephews; best friend of 68 years, Carol Sue Lawson; extra special “Club Lady” friends, Linda Vargo, Sue Robertson, Ginny Kusnir, Marge Kasak, Patty Hegyi, Diana Gaughan and Paula Mynett.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 11:30am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting; a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12 noon at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting with the Rev. Mark R. Peres, C.P.P.S, officiating; cremation to follow; visitation at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9:00am to time of services. Nancy Mitchell was born on August 5, 1948 to the late Michael and Millie (Anthony) Adam. She was a lifelong resident of the Whiting-Robertsdale Community and was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School, Class of 1966. Nancy was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Assoc., BR. 81. She was a former leader for the Girl Scouts of America and was a retiree of the Henry Pratt Valve Co. An avid reader, Nancy loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Devoted to her family, she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. John Church Capital Campaign, 1849 Lincoln Ave., Whiting, IN 46394, would be appreciated.
