Melody P. (Schweiger) Janik

Melody P. Janik (nee Schweiger) 66 of Whiting, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at the Hammond-Whiting Care Center. She is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Joseph M. Janik; loving mother of Michael (Rebecca) Janik and Kristy Janik; cherished grandmother of Jasmine, Jonathan, Dakota, Mackenzie and Kelsey.

Visitaion will be held Monday, November 13, 2023 at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting from 5:00 to 8:00pm. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on-line at www.baranfh.com.

Melody Janik was born on July 17, 1957 in Pensacola, Florida to Herbert and Judith (Powell) Schweiger and was a resident of Whiting for the past 48 years. Melody enjoyed crafting, scrapbooking and was a great lover of pets. Devoted to her family, she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
