Mary Jane (Kundrat) Kansky

Mary Jane Kansky (nee Kundrat) 86 of Woodland, California, formerly of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late Milan Kansky who passed away July 27, 1999; loving mother of Laura (Jay) Handlin, David Kansky, Mary Therese (Jeff) Roberts and Milan John (Rosie) Kansky; cherished grandmother of Rachel Handlin, David, Katie, late Daniel, Alexis and Milana Kansky; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Leo (late Ruby) Kundrat.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 10:00am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 119th Street and Lincoln Avenue, Whiting, Indiana with the Rev. Mark R. Peres, C.PP.S., officiating; interment of cremains to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville; visitation at the church on Saturday from 9:00am to time of services. Mary Jane Kansky was born on August 16, 1936 in Whiting, Indiana to John and Mary (Adzima) Kundrat. A longtime resident of Whiting, she was a graduate of Whiting High School, Class of 1954. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting, where she sang with the St. John Adult Choir and was a former cook at the St. John Panel Room. She enjoyed baking, gardening and loved to travel, especially trips to Paris, Rome and the Holy Land. Devoted to her family, Mary Jane will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
