Obituary

Mary Jane DuFallo (nee Golub) 93 of Fort Wayne, Indiana, formerly of Whiting, passed away peacefully on the early morning of Thursday, August 31, 2023 surrounded by her most cherished family. She is survived by her beloved husband and high school sweetheart of 75 years, Robert J. DuFallo; loving mother of Judy (David) Rice; dearest grandmother of Ryan (Cassie) Rice and Kayla (Devon) Walker; adoring great grandma of Sean Rice, Carter, Blake and Riley Jane Walker; dear sister-in-law of Dorothy (late Edward) Urbanik; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Mike and George Golub and three sisters, Katherine Beisal, Agnes Soptich and Ann Miller.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting from 4:00 to 8:00pm.; a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 10:00am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 119th St. and Lincoln Ave., Whiting with the Rev. Gregory P. Holicky, officiating; interment to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond; parish wake service at the funeral home on Thursday at 4:30pm; the Knights of Columbus, Pope John XXIII Council 1696 will offer prayers at the funeral home on Thursday at 6:00pm. Mary Jane DuFallo was born on September 9, 1929 to Michael and Agnes (Spudic) Golub. A longtime resident of Whiting, she has resided in Fort Wayne, Indiana for the past 21 years. She was a graduate of Whiting High School, Class of 1948 and had been a very active member of the former Immaculate Conception Church, Whiting, the St. Ann Sodality and the K of C Wives Club (former officer). She is a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Fort Wayne and had spent her working career in the retail sector. Mary Jane enjoyed crafting and was an excellent seamstress. Devoted to her family, she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Immaculate Conception Grotto Fund, c/o St. John Rectory, 1849 Lincoln Ave., Whiting, IN 46394.
