Marian P. Krull, age 82, of Whiting and Miller Beach, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at her residence. She was the beloved daughter of the late John E. and Emilia (Peschel) Krull; loving sister of her identical twin, Marcia Krull and John (late Virginia) Krull; cherished aunt of Jeanine (Bob) Mancusi, Steve (Shari) Krull, Eric (Cindy Matre) Krull, Gerald (Laura) Krull, Charlene (Joe) Surufka and Michael (Flo) Krull; adoring great aunt of Charlie, Kathryn, Kurt, Melanie, Kristin, Kyle, Alex, Ben, Anna, Sam, Leah, Scott (Jean), Todd, Kelly and Matthew; proud great, great aunt of Allison; many dear cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 9:30am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting; a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting with the Rev. Kevin M. Scalf, C.PP.S., officiating; interment, St. John Cemetery, Hammond; visitation at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00pm; parish wake service at the funeral home on Sunday at 4:30pm.
Marian Krull was born on May 12, 1936 and was a lifelong resident of the Calumet Region. She was a graduate of St. John School, Whiting, George Rogers Clark High School, Class of 1954 and had attended Purdue University. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting, the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Assoc., BR. 81, the Whiting-Robertsdale Chamber of Commerce and lent her voice to the Sweet Adeline’s International-Calumet Chapter. Marian was an avid gardener and loved nature and fitness. She established “Dune Cove”, a women’s fitness camp in New Buffalo, MI and participated regularly at Fitness Point in Munster. She was an avid skier and excellent bowler and was a retiree of LTV Steel, with a service of 45 years. Marian was a true “Whitingite”. She loved the park, the lake, the festivals, the concerts and her church. She supported anything that was good for the community with her involvement and positive attitude. Entertaining family and friends in Miller Beach was always very special to Marian who herself was a constant and loyal friend. Devoted to her family, she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. The Krull family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of the Calumet Area who provided excellent care to Marian. In lieu of flowers, memorials to “Forever Blue & Gold” (St. John School Alumni Association) would be appreciated.
