Maria S. Vargas Romera, 66 of Whiting, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 17, 2020 at St. Catherine Hospital, East Chicago. She is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Jose G. Romero; loving mother of Cesar (Ann) Romero; cherished grandmother of Benicio and Nikola; dearest sister of Juan (Beatriz) Vargas, Hermelinda (Benjamin) Flores, Teresa (Mejia) Blanco, Ofelia Vargas, Efrain (Josefina) Vargas, Guillermina (Rogelio) Gonzalez and the late Luz Vargas and Maria de Jesus Hernandez; dear aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119^th St., Whiting, IN. Funeral services were private, there was no visitation.

Maria Vargas Romero was born on June 12, 1954 in Tepatitlan, Jalisco, Mexico to the late Urbano and Guadalupe (Huerta) Vargas and was a resident of Whiting for the past 15 years. Devoted to her family Maria will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
