Linzy Palmer Obituary

Linzy D. Palmer, 98 of Crown Point, formerly of East Chicago, passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, May 17, 2020 at the St. Anthony Nursing Home, Crown Point. He was the beloved husband of the late Rose (Nelnick) Palmer who passed away in 2007; loving father of Ben (Mary) Palmer, Diana (Robert) Dollinar and Marlene Hopkins; cherished grandfather of seven, many great grandchildren; dear brother of David Palmer and Tommy Palmer; many nieces and nephews.

Private services were held with interment at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois. There was no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on-line at www.baranfh.com .

Linzy Palmer was born on October 31, 1921 in Idaho to Charles and Mary Palmer and was a longtime resident of the Calumet Region. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII and had served in the African and European Campaigns. He was a retiree of Standard Forgings, East Chicago with 14 years of service.  Devoted to his family, Linzy will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
