Khristina M. "Tina" (Ewing) Preneta

Khristina M. “Tina” Preneta (nee Ewing) 62 of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Franciscan Hospital, Munster. She is survived by her beloved husband of 31 years, Joseph Preneta; dearest sister of Michael Ewing, Walker (Ann) Ewing, Marty (Jennifer) Ewing and the late Christine Ewing; dear aunt to many nieces and nephews; cherished canine companion, “Rogi”.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 11:00am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting, with the Rev. Timothy McFarland, C.PP.S., of St. Adalbert Church, Whiting, officiating; cremation to follow; visitation at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00pm.  Expressions of sympathy may be placed on-line at www.baranfh.com.

Tina Preneta was born on October 6, 1960 in Barstow, California to Mike and Patricia (Feeney) Ewing. She was a resident of Whiting for the past 40 years and was a member of St. Adalbert Church, Whiting, and the St. Hedwig Lodge of the Polish Women’s Alliance, Group 37. She was a retiree of AIG, Chicago, with a service of 35 years. An avid crafter, she crocheted many a scarf and afghan and enjoyed karaoke. A devoted wife, Tina will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Whiting “Gimme Shelter” (for pets), P.O.
