Kathy was born on October 9, 1956 and was raised by John and Stella from the age of 18 months to 18 years of age. A special needs child, she attended classes at Whiting, East Chicago and Highland Schools from 1961 to 1972 and religious education classes with Fr. Blaney of the Share Foundation. In 1985 she was accepted into the Arc Bridges Work Program and on to a Dungarvin Residential Group Home setting, which she loved. She enjoyed her stuffed animals, eagles, listening to the radio, Elvis Presley, watching Home Alone movies, coffee, Dr. Pepper, calling her foster sister-in-law Lucille Ball, trips to the Heston Train Museum for the train rides, going out to lunch, wanting to be an angel for her foster brother and care givers and praying to her foster mom and dad. With our most sincere appreciation, thank you to the group home staff (Carmen, Glenna, Judy, Shara, Sylvia, Tamika and Vannessa), the Paladin Day Program, the staff at the Munster Med-Inn and Transitions Hospice for all the love and care shown to Kathy Ann, she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Immaculate Conception Grotto Fund, c/o St. John Rectory, 1849 Lincoln Ave., Whiting, IN 46394, would be appreciated.
