Joseph A. Pazanin

Joseph A. Pazanin, 78 of Hammond, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025 at his residence. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Janice (nee Posavec); dearest brother-in-law of Steven (Marilee) Posavec and Joanne Posavec; dear uncle of Stefanie (Steven McInerny) Posavec and Rachel Posavec; fond great uncle of Rowan Gift McInerny.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 10:00am at St. Adalbert Church, 121St Street and Indianapolis Blvd., Whiting, with the Rev. Mark R. Peres, C.PP.S., officiating. Visitation at the church on Friday morning from 9:00am to time of services. Joseph Pazanin was born on April 29, 1946 to Robert and Jennie (Tokarz) Pazanin and was a lifelong resident of Hammond. He was a graduate of  George Rogers Clark High School, Class of 1964 and went on to earn his Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from Coyne College, Chicago. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and was a retiree of the US Steel Company, Gary, with a service of 25 years. He was an avid reader and fisherman. A devoted husband, Joseph will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Whiting “Gimme Shelter” (for pets), P.O.
