John P. Drac

John P. “Johnny” Drac, 63 of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at his residence. He was the beloved son of the late John F. and Anna (Vrablec) Drac; loving brother of Peter (Anett) Drac and Eva Drac; cherished uncle of Andrea Drac, Shaun Albro, Christopher (Ally) Albro, Kevin Albro and Nikki Albro; great nieces, nephews and cousins; dear nephew of Marian (late John) Vrablec.

 Memorial Services will be held on Friday, July1, 2022 at 12 noon at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119^th St., Whiting, with the Rev. Mark R. Peres, C.PP.S. of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting, officiating; interment of cremains to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond; visitation at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00am to time of services. Johnny Drac was born on May 25, 1959 and was a longtime resident of the Whiting-Robertsdale Community. He was a graduate of St. John School and George Rogers Clark High School. He was a long-haul truck driver for several logistics companies and was a manager and referee at the Southwest Ice Arena, Crestwood, Illinois. Johnny loved music but his passion was ice hockey. An avid Chicago Blackhawks fan, he had the opportunity to skate with many Blackhawk players at Southwest. Devoted to his family, Johnny will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
