Joanne (Papp) Schultz

Joanne Schultz (nee Papp) age 80 of Whiting, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025 in Chicago. She was the beloved wife of the late Roy W. Schultz; loving sister to Jennifer (John) Drutis and Donna (Gary) Mitcheltree; cherished grandmother to Nikki Schultz; dearest lifelong friend to Sandy Sills. She was preceded in death by her sons, Michael (Laura Grotta) Schultz and Eric Schultz.

Joanne Schultz was born in Valparaiso, Indiana on November 12, 1944 and was a longtime resident of Whiting. She graduated from Hammond Tech Highschool and went on to be a cosmetologist at Andres Beauty Box in Whiting. Joanne loved crafting and sewing and especially enjoyed making Easter Bonnets for the Whiting Easter Parade competition. She was an avid reader of horror novels, loved scary movies and had a lot of fun decorating for Halloween. Devoted to her family, Joanne will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Private services were held, there will be no visitation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th Street, Whiting.
