Jeffery L. Stoll, 74 of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at St. Catherine Hospital, East Chicago. He is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Nancy (nee Serafin); dear brother-in-law of Ralph (Nancy) Serafin, Judy (Michael) Brown, Lou Ann (Dean) Eitel, Margaret Hanchar, Jeffrey (Betsy) Serafin and Betty Jo (Anthony) Diaz; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherm and Norma (Aldrich) Stoll and his brother, Gregory Stoll.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, 4:00pm at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting with Pastor Paul Vale of the New Life Christian Church, officiating, followed by military honors; cremation to follow; visitation at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00p.m. to time of services. Jeff Stoll was born on February 4, 1949. A longtime resident of the Whiting-Robertsdale Community, he was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School, Class of 1966. A US Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, he was the recipient of the Purple Heart and was a member of the VFW Walter Kleiber Post 2724 and the American Legion Whiting Post 80 who together will conduct memorials services at the funeral home on Saturday at 4:15pm. He was a member of the Whiting United Methodist Church, the American Slovak Club, Roosevelt Club, Sokol Club and the Whiting B.P.O.E. Lodge 1273 (Memorial Service Saturday at 2:00pm). He was a retiree of the United States Postal Service / Whiting Post Office. An avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, Jeff enjoyed “tail-gating” with da “Bear-mobile Crew”. Jeff loved people, a good party and travels to warm destinations with water and beaches. A devoted husband, Jeff will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Disabled American Veterans, 860 Dolwick Dr., Erlanger, KY 41018 would be appreciated.
