Gregory Campos, Jr.

Gregory Campos, Jr., 58 of Whiting passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at his residence. He was the loving father of Courtney O’Brien and Shawn O’Brien; cherished brother of Arnold “Archie” (Patricia) Campos and Debbie (Tom) Gray; dearest uncle of Crystal (Scott) Lankenau, Michael Ramirez, Samantha Ramirez and Adric Campos.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00am at Sacred Heart Church, 118^th Street and LaPorte Avenue, Whiting on Saturday, February 1, 2020 with the Rev. Mark R. Peres, C.PP.S., officiating.  Visitation at the church Saturday morning from 9am to time of services.  A memorial gathering will follow at the Whiting Elks Lodge, 119^th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, Whiting.

Gregory Campos was born on June 20, 1961 to Gregory Campos and Juanita Reyna Atkins and was a lifelong resident of Whiting. He attended Immaculate Conception School and Whiting High School. In his youth was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of the Whiting B.P.O.E. Lodge #1273. Greg had a very creative mind, a self-employed handy man, he also attained an Indiana State Cosmetology License. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in botany and enjoyed doing landscape design. Excellent at painting and woodworking, he was also interested in Indian Artifacts. Devoted to his family, Greg will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
