Gloria Ann Anderson Thomas (nee Laurincik), 78 of Hammond, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of Monday, May 31, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanley Richard Anderson; loving mother to Timothy Anderson, Jeffrey Anderson and Mark (Lisa) Anderson; cherished grandma of Adam, Niles, and Gabrielle Anderson; dearest sister to Nancy Swallow and the late Mary Alice (Dennis) Brunner; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 9:30am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting; a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting, with the Rev. Mark R. Peres, officiating; interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City; visitation at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00pm. (Due to the current health situation a limitation of 50 people will be allowed in the funeral home at one time, face masks must be worn, social distancing is expected and temperatures will be taken.) Gloria was born on October 25, 1942 to George and Genevieve (Prince) Laurincik and was lifelong resident of the Calumet Region. She was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School, Class of 1960 and of the Hammond Business College. She was a former employee of the Hammond Valve Corporation. She greatly enjoyed gardening, always choosing a beautiful and large variety of flowers to brighten up the yard. Gloria was an animal lover, especially doting on cats. Devoted to her family, Gloria will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
