Frank "Ping Pong" Poole Jr.

Frank “Ping Pong” Poole Jr., of Whiting, IN, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025 at his residence. Frank is survived by the mother of his child, Doreen Fortener; beloved father to Sara Poole; cherished brother to Dennis Poole; adoring uncle to Tameka, Tiffany and Dennis Poole Jr. and a dear cousin to many. Frank was also preceded in death by his daughter, Crystle Poole and Edward Nolan Jr.

Private services have been held.

Frank Poole Jr. was born on March 9, 1952 to Juanita Jones and Frank Poole Sr. in Gary, IN. Frank attended Froebel High School and switched to Horace Mann High School in Gary where he graduated in the Class of 1971. While in high school he was an avid athlete, excelling in Basketball, Running and Football. Frank went on to work for U.S. Steel at the tube works and later become a Security Worker for Allied Universal with over 20 years of service. A big fan of Drag Racing, Frank was always cheering on his favorite racer “John Force.” Frank was also an artist and excelled at working with his hands to build model cars and airplanes, as well as enjoying drawing. Always known for his good sense of humor, he loved pulling pranks on his daughter Sara and was just as often on the receiving end of her pranks.

Devoted to his family, Frank will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
