Edward Paul Matuska

Edward Paul Matuska, Jr. age 66, of Valparaiso, formerly of Whiting, IN, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Judith (nee Morgan); loving father of Melissa Ann and Jennifer Marie; cherished grandpa of Dominic Edward Vasaitis; dear brother-in-law: Nancy (Jack) Walter, Peggy (Mike) Bugajski and Silvana (late Tom) Morgan; many nieces, cousins and good friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 10:00am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 119th Street and Lincoln Avenue, Whiting, Indiana, with the Rev. Mark R. Peres, C.PP.S., officiating. Family and friends are invited to meet with the family at the church from 9:00am to time of services. Edward was born on  October 13, 1958 to the late Edward and Margaret (Dubeck) Matuska and was a lifelong resident of the Calumet Region. He attended St. John the Baptist Catholic School, Whiting, was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School, Class of 1976 and was a member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association, BR. 81. He was a retired manufactures representative with Detail at Retail. Edward enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, NBA basketball and of course, spending quality time with his grandson. Devoted to his family, he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Edward's family, would be appreciated.
