Donald L. Koonce

Donald L. Koonce, 54 of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at his residence. He was the beloved son of the late Donald and Joan Marie Koonce and was preceded in death by his daughter, Andrea Joan Koonce; cherished brother of Tracy (late Tim) Falk (Jerry Cox); dearest nephew of Jeanne (Eugene) Orzechowicz, Warren (late Marilyn) Koonce and Cheryl (late Everett) Koonce; many dear cousins.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 11:00am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting with Pastor Paul Vale of the New Life Christian Church, Whiting, officiating; interment followed at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point; visitation at the funeral home was on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Donald Koonce was born on June 20, 1967. He was a lifelong resident of the Whiting-Robertsdale Community and was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School, Class of 1985. Active in the New Life Christian Church, Whiting, Donald enjoyed working around the church and working “Xtreme”. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and had a great interest in real estate. He was a retiree of the School City of Hammond (George Rogers Clark High School). Devoted to his family, Donald will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him
