Dolores Ogrizovich (nee Ford), 95, of Whiting passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Community Hospital, Munster. She was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas Ogrizovich who passed away February 27, 1980. Loving mother of Allen (late Ellen) Ogrizovich; cherished grandmother of James and Nicholas; dearest sister of Joseph (late Sharon) Ford and the late Irene "Dodo" Earl and Richard (late Regina) Ford; dearest aunt of Helen (John) Lesko, Calvin (Susan) Earl, Sharon Ford, Leroy (Cheri) Ford, Sandra Nobles, Michael Ford, Cheryl Mullinix and Lisa (Brian) Gill; many great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 9:30am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235 - 119th Street, Whiting; A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting, with the Rev. Mark R. Peres, C.PP.S., officiating; internment, St. John Cemetery, Hammond; visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00pm. The St. John Rosary Society, together with members of the parish, will offer prayers at the funeral home on Tuesday at 4:30pm. Expressions of sympathy may be shared online at www.baranfh.com.
Dolores Ogrizovich was born on October 27, 1930 to Leroy and Mary (Kozak) Ford. She was a lifelong resident and was a graduate of Whiting High School, Class of 1948. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting, the St. John Rosary Society and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. As the matriarch of her family, Dolores always watched after her family and always treated them to traditional Slovak cuisine. She enjoyed needlework, still actively doing crotchet. She was retiree of the Whiting City Hall with a service of fifteen years. Dolores was devoted to her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
