Dolores E. (Gualandi) Borgetti

Dolores E. Borgetti (nee Gualandi) 93 of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 11, 2024 surrounded by her most cherished family at her home. She was the beloved wife of 62 years to the late Ambrose Borgetti who passed away December 23, 2013; loving mother of Michael (Terry), David (Sally), Richard (Melissa) and James (Amy); proud “Nonna” of Maria Borgetti, Sarah (Varun) Borgetti-Ebenezer, Gina (Bane) Evans,  Scott (Sidney) Borgetti, Anthony (Brittany) Borgetti, David (Kristina) Borgetti, Jonathan (Amanda) Borgetti, Jason Borgetti, Mark (fiancée, Colleen Lavin) Amber, and Catherine (fiancée, John Beery) Amber; adoring “Nonni" of eleven great-grandchildren..

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 9:30am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th Street, Whiting; a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00am at Sacred Heart Church, Whiting, with the Rev. Jay Nuthulapati, officiating; interment, Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point; visitation at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Members of the parish will offer prayers at the funeral home on Monday at 6:00pm.  Expressions of sympathy may be placed on-line at www.baranfh.com.

Dolores Borgetti was born on February 1, 1931 in Schram City, Illinois to Dante and Mabel Gualandi and was a longtime resident of the Calumet Region. She was a graduate of East Chicago Roosevelt High School, Class of 1949 and was a devoted  member of Sacred Heart Church, Whiting. Dolores spent her career in the banking industry and was a retiree of the American Trust & Savings Bank, Whiting, with a service of 15 years. She enjoyed playing “Dominos”, had a passion for purses and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Devoted to her family, Dolores will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Cystic Fibrosis Fund or the Indiana Elks Cancer Research Foundation, would be appreciated.
