Diane Gesik

Diane Gesik, 68 of Virginia Beach, Virginia, formerly of Whiting, passed away peacefully on the early morning of Friday, October 31, 2025 at her residence. She was the beloved daughter of the late Edward J. and Margaret I. (Miklos) Gesik; cherished sister of Michael Gesik; many dear cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 11:00am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting with Dr. J. Calaway, Pastor of The Gate, Hammond, officiating; interment, Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville; visitation at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9:00a.m. to time of services. Diane Gesik was born on June 8, 1957. She grew up in the Whiting-Robertsdale Community and was a resident of Virginia Beach, VA for the past 35 years. She was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School, Class of 1975 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting/ business management from Purdue University, West LaFayette, Indiana in 1979 and attained her Masters Degree in Education from Regents University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Diane’s faith was the central part of her life. She was a member of York Assembly of God, Yorktown, Virginia, and even took the chance of smuggling Bibles on a trip to China. She loved her cats and had volunteered at a local pet cemetery. Devoted to her family, Diane will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
