Dennis C. Rowden

Dennis C. Rowden, 73 of Whiting, passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at the Great Lakes Healthcare Center, Dyer. He was the beloved husband of the late Anne Laurie (Companik) Rowden who passed away January 13, 2009; loving father of Kristopher (Holly) Rowden,, Danielle (late Adrian) Casas, Sean Rowden and the late Dennane Rowden Gomez; cherished “Papa” of Haley and Madeline Rowden, Emerik Quiroz, Juliette Gomez, Isabella, Danika and Adrianna Casas; dearest brother of Shelley Pallo-Price; dear brother-in-law of Charles (late Diane) Companik and Mary (late Michael) Companik; niece Larissa (Steve) Hyatt; great nephew, Logan.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 8:00pm at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting; cremation to follow; visitation at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00pm to time of services.

Dennis Rowden was born on May 8, 1946 to Clyde and Helen (Bodie) Rowden and was a lifelong resident of Whiting. He was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School, Class of 1964, was a US Army Veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict and was a retiree of the BP Whiting Refinery. Dennis loved building and restoring cars. He was a founding member of the Whiting “Cruise Nights” and was a member of the Highway Rodders of Northwest Indiana. Devoted to his family, Dennis will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.
