Dennis J. Chambers

Dennis J. Chambers, 68 of Hammond, passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, May 11, 2020 at St. Catherine Hospital, East Chicago.He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Norma (nee Hernandez) loving father of Robert Joseph (Samantha) Chambers, Thomas Joseph Chambers, Gregory Anthony Chambers and Nydia Myrna Chambers; cherished grandfather of Alex, Conner, Joshua, Kiera, Kylie, Kaiza, Kallum, Kya, Evan and the late Julianna Chambers; dear brother-in-law of Carlos (Helen) Hernandez and Ivy (Dan) Bender; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Chancie (Comforti) Chambers.

A Memorial Service will be planned for a future date. There was no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119^th St., Whiting. Expressions of sympathy may be placed online at www.baranfh.com .

Dennis Chambers was born on January 1, 1952 and was a lifelong resident of the Calumet Region.  He grew up in Calumet City and was a member of St. Victor Church and was a graduate of Thornridge High School. Dennis was a United States Army Veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict and was a retiree of the Inland Steel Co. (Arcelor Mittal), East Chicago with a service of 31 years. He enjoyed crafting vintage model cars and boats and attending car shows and cruise nights. Devoted to his family, Dennis will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.
