David A. "Dave" Stapleton

David A. “Dave” Stapleton, 46 of Hammond passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at St. Catherine Hospital, East Chicago. Beloved son of Anna-Marie Stapleton and the late William Ray Stapleton; cherished brother of Christopher (Sheri) Stapleton, CCFD and the late Amanda Beth Stapleton; dearest uncle “Big Bug” of Kristen and Alyssa Drozd; dear nephew of Gloria Stapleton; many extended family members and friends; adoring pet dad to “Chet”

A Celebration of Dave’s life will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th Street, Whiting, from 2:00pm to time of services at 6:00pm with the Rev. Mark R. Peres, C.PP.S. of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting, officiating; cremation to follow. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on-line at www.baranfh.com.

Dave Stapleton was born on November 22, 1976. He was a lifelong resident of Hammond and was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School, Class of 1995. He was a former employee of Serenity Environmental Services, a member of the Sokol Club and was an avid Chicago Bears and Nascar fan. His love of cooking proved he was a great amateur chef. Devoted to his family, Dave will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu flowers, memorials to the Whiting “Gimme Shelter” (for pets), P.O.
