Constance S. “Connie” Finegan, (nee Karwatka) 78 of Whiting, passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, August 28, 2023 at her residence. She was the beloved wife of 50 years to the late Lawrence T. Finegan who passed away April 23, 2016; loving mother of Jane Ann Finegan, Michael (Victoria) Finegan and Sean (Tracy) Finegan; cherished grandmother of David Finegan, Aaron (Meagan) Finegan, Lauren “The Princess” (Tyler) Chengary, Faith Finegan and Paige Finegan; adoring great grandma of Parker, Lucy and Tyler; dearest sister of Phyllis (George) McKee, late Robert (late Judith) Karwatka, Kathleen (late Bill) Dapkus, Joyce (late James) O’Brien, Harold Missel and late Kenneth Missel; dear aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th Street, Whiting, Indiana, there was no visitation. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on-line at www.baranfh.com.
Connie Finegan was born on August 4, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois to Servene and Pearl (Jozwiak) Karwatka and was a graduate of Bowen High School, Class of 1965. A resident of Whiting for the past 31 years, she was a community advocate and organizer. Connie worked on many 120th Street Block Parties and was the president of the Whiting Tree Board for many years. She was an avid crafter and artist, an excellent cook and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Devoted to her family, Connie will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
