Christopher Bobos Obituary

Christopher B. “Chris” Bobos, 69 of Whiting, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 25, 2025 at his residence. He was the beloved son of Gerald “Jerry” Bobos and the late Rosemary (Volom) Bobos; cherished brother of Gregory (Kathy) Bobos, Late Nicholas (Nancy) Bobos, Michael (Tina) Bobos and Judith (John) Fruth; many dear nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private services have been entrusted to the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th Street, Whiting, there was no visitation. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on-line at www.baranfh.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials to either the Whiting Park Festival Orchestra, P.O. Box 591, Whiting, IN 46394 or the Marian Theatre Guild of St. John Church, 1849 Lincoln Ave., Whiting, IN 46394, would be appreciated.

Chris Bobos was born on July 3, 1956. A longtime resident of the Whiting-Robertsdale Community, he was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School, Class of 1974 of which he took great pride in serving on the 50th Anniversary Class Reunion Committee last August. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Butler University, Indianapolis. Chris spent most of his working career as Director of Activities at Catholic Charities Nursing Facilities in Florida and was currently working part-time for Strack’s in Whiting as the front end manager. Chris was a member of the Whiting B.P.O.E. Lodge 1273. He enjoyed gardening, needle point, had participated with a “Dominos” club and had a great love of music, theatre and dance. Devoted to his family, Chris will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
