Carol E. (Milarch) Stepanian

Carol E. Stepanian (nee Milarch) 79 of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July11, 2024 at the Community Hospital, Munster. She is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years, Jim Stepanian; loving mother of Karl (Kelly) Kompier, Kelli (Ken) Kieltyka and Scott (Tara) Stepanian; cherished grandmother of Kyle (Melina) Kompier, Kevin Kompier, Nicole Biel, Michael Biel, Averie Stepanian and Zoey Stepanian; adoring great grandma of Oliver and Julian Kompier; dear cousins, Chuck and Millie.

Private funeral services were held on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th Street, Whiting with the Rev. Charles W. Niblick, officiating; interment, St. John Cemetery, Hammond.  Expressions of sympathy may be placed on-line at www.baranfh.com.

Carol Stepanian was born on June 7, 1945 to Carl and Emily (Bucsanyi) Milarch. A lifelong resident of Whiting, she was a graduate of Whiting High School, Class of 1963. She was the owner and operator of the former Cafe Roosevelt on 119th Street in Whiting. She enjoyed working puzzles, watching game shows and above all spending time with her family. Devoted to her family, Carol will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 5600 Mannheim Road, Chicago, IL 60666, would be appreciated.
