Ann M. Matusik (nee Mis) 94 of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at her residence She was the beloved wife of 71 years to the late Stanley F. Matusik who passed away December 18, 2021; loving mother of John (Kathy), Linda (Ronald) Rex and James (JoAnne); cherished Buscia of seven; adoring great Buscia of eleven; dear sister-in-law of Jeannie (Ray) Macek; proud aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 10:30am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting; a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00a.m. at St. Adalbert Church, Whiting with the Rev. Mark R. Peres, C.PP.S., officiating; cremation to follow; visitation at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9:00am to time of services. Ann Matusik was born on July 18, 1929 to Jan and Mary (Pytel) Mis. She was a lifelong resident of the Whiting-Robertsdale Community and was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School, Class of 1947. She was a devoted member of St. Adalbert Church, Whiting, was a member of the Polish National Alliance and was a retiree of the former Park View Foods, Whiting, with a service of 25 years. Devoted to her family, Ann’s greatest joy was the time spent with her grandkids and great grandkids. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Adalbert Church, Whiting or the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, would be appreciated.
