Thomas J. Kapcak

Thomas J. Kapcak, 85 of Whiting, passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, March 3, 2018 at St. Catherine Hospital, East Chicago, IN. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Kay (nee Rigg); loving father of David (Diane) Durham, Dale (Tonya) Durham, Dean (Denise) Durham and Daniel Durham; cherished grandfather of Jessica, Brett, Corey, Christian and Ashley.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2:00pm at the Whiting United Methodist Church, 1920 Clark St. at Community Ct., Whiting, IN  with Pastor Toby Guill officiating. Military Honors will follow. 

Thomas Kapcak was born on December 6, 1932 to John and Anna (Sepcek) Kapcak and was a lifelong resident of the Calumet Region. He was a member of the Whiting United Methodist Church and was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict attaining the rank of sergeant. He was a retiree of the Inland Steel Co., East Chicago, IN with a service of 29 years. Tom was very artistic and enjoyed painting, needlepoint, and loved his word-find puzzle books. He was also an avid gardener and fisherman. Devoted to his family, Tom will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
