Sara Michelle Marvel

Sara Michelle Marvel, 37 of Whiting, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at St. Catherine Hospital, East Chicago. She was born on April 16, 1982 to Rebecca (Hyatt) Marvel and Lawrence Marvel. She is survived by the love of her life, Nicholas Trutko and her seven beautiful babies, Katlyn (17), Michael (15), Hailey (14), Chloe (11), Alan (7), Ayden (1) and Ian (newborn). Sara had one sibling, her sister, Kristina (Joe) Miller; beloved paternal granddaughter of Phyllis (Schuhrke) Marvel; dearest aunt to Christopher (Nicole) Miller and Joshua (Breann) Miller; dear great aunt to Paisley (aka, “Suzanne”,  what Sara called her as a joke!) and Zoie Miller, Caden (“Stinkums”) and Liam Miller; amazing niece of many; cherished cousins and dear friends who loved  her. Sara was greeted into heaven by her paternal grandfather, Milo Marvel; maternal grandparents, Charles (Jeanette) Hyatt; maternal great grandmother, Rose Schurke; uncles, Mark Tanton and Greg Whitlock and aunt Susie Tanton.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 11:30am at the Whiting United Methodist Church, 1920 Clark St., Whiting with the Rev. Christopher Matthews, officiating. Friends are invited to meet with the family at the church on Saturday from 10:00am to time of services.

Sara was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt with a nurturing soul. She was a friend to everyone she met. Her death shook a whole community that will never forget her kindness and love. Her legacy will live on through her children and her family. In lieu of flowers, memorials for the education of the Trutko children would be appreciated.
