Robert Matthew "Gypsy" Timko Obituary

Robert Matthew “Gypsy” Timko rode his custom Indian chopper into heaven on June 21, 2018. He is survived by his dearly devoted parents George, Jr. and Ann Marie (Kiraly) Timko; his loving sisters Tracy (Rob) Lowe, Maribeth (Dave) Kennedy and Amy (Joshua) Lopatin; his love and life partner Marsha Modrak; adoring nephews and nieces Andrew, Matthew and T.J. Lowe and Lauren and Brooke Kennedy; dear uncle and aunt, Henry and Paula Timko; first cousins Debbie (Dave Baran) Timko and David Timko; numerous other cousins, godchildren and his AVMRA brothers and sisters including dear brother Paul “Pappy” Day. Robert was welcomed into heaven and reunited with grandparents George, Sr. and Emily Timko and Anne Kiraly, Aunt Christine Kiraly, many dear friends including special brother John “Wolf” Wasko and many of his pets and rescues that he loved dearly.

Robert was a 1987 graduate from Whiting High School and a veteran of the United States Navy, received his Associate’s degree and was a certified welder. He was a daredevil with an amazing sense of humor, a gift for great storytelling, and he had a heart made of pure gold. Some of his greatest felt accomplishments included being an officer in AVMRA and he always felt pride when helping escort fallen soldiers home, partaking in many charity rides and contributing to causes that helped veterans, children and animals.

His family would like to thank the VA care team and Unity Hospice and all who contributed to helping Robert find comfort in his dear life that ended way too soon. Robert has requested a private service followed by cremation. In lieu of flowers his family would ask that memorials be made to your favorite no-kill shelter or veteran’s association. They would also like to observe the importance of organ donation, veteran care and ask that you always look out for bikers.

There was no visitation.
