Raymond Lawrence Barnes

Raymond Lawrence Barnes, 87 of Crown Point, IN, formerly of Whiting IN, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018. Raymond is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Dolores Jean (nee Zvijak); loving children, Susan (late Raymond) Papach, Kevin (Helen) Barnes, Linda (Rick) Kulik, Terry Barnes, Brian (Elida) Barnes, Kelly (Jim) Bradtke, Sheri Barnes; cherished grandchildren, Katie (Edward) Summersill, Rebecca, Matthew (Amanda), Michael, Angie Papach, Mary Beth Barnes, Christopher Kulik, Brandon, Kassandra, Vanessa Barnes, Ryan, Riley Bradtke, Mackenzie Balind; brother and sister-in-law Anna Mae and Ted Lampa and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Harry and Bertha Barnes, brother Barney (Shirley) Barnes and dearest brother-in-law, Rev. Fr. John Zvijak C.PP.S.

Raymond was an Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean War, Most Avid Cubs Fan and devout superfan of his grandchildren. Retired from Teletype Corporation in 1987. He served as a Parish Council member and Eucharistic Minister at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

A Memorial Mass will be offered on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 10:00am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 119^th Street & Lincoln Ave, Whiting, with the Rev. John E. Kalicky, C.PP.S., officiating, followed by Military Honors.  Friends are invited to meet with the family at the church on Saturday from 9:00am to time of services. Funeral arrangements have  been entrusted to the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119^th St., Whiting.
