Mary Ann (Mantich) Myers

Mary Ann Myers, RN (nee Mantich), 74 of Crown Point, formerly of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 29, 2018 surrounded by her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Chuck Myers; her children, Jennifer (Mike) Nicholus and Matthew (Kate) Plemich; grandchildren, Julia, Noah, Ryan, Sally, Laura, Jenna, Christopher, Joseph, David and Garnett; step-children, JoAnn Bridges and Rusty Myers; siblings, Nancy (Doug) Mantich, Marlene Mantich and Michael (Deann) Mantich; sister-in-law, Garnett Myers and by nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Marie Mantich; brother, Andrew Mantich and sisters, Rosemary Mantich and Nancy Catherine Mantich.

A Funeral Liturgy will be offered on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church, 2011 Clark St., Whiting with the Rev. Basil Hutsko, officiating; interment of cremains will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point; visitation at the church on Monday morning from 9:00am to time of services.

Mary Ann Myers was born on July 4, 1943 and was a lifelong resident of the Calumet Region. She received her nursing degree from the Michael Reese School of Nursing, Chicago and completed further coursework at DePaul University, Chicago.  She devoted her nursing career to serving the ailing and impoverished. Devoted to her family, Mary Ann will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Memorial donations may be made in Mary Ann’s name to the Whiting Food Pantry, P.O.
