Kathy Marie Kalena

Kathy Marie Kalena, 63 of Whiting, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Great Lakes Healthcare Center, Dyer. She was the beloved daughter of the late Andrew and Kay (Gurekovich) Kalena and was preceded in death by her cherished sister, Barbara Ann Kalena. She is survived by her aunt, Marie Pavnic, many cousins and devoted canine companions.

Private services have been held. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting.

Kathy was a lifelong resident of the Whiting-Robertsdale Community and was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School, Class of 1974. She was a Registered Nurse and a former employee of Children’s Memorial Hospital, Chicago. Memorials to the Whiting “Gimme Shelter” (for pets), would be appreciated.
