Gabriela Castellanos, 34 of Whiting, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 27, 2017 at her residence. She was the beloved daughter of Moises Castellanos and Sara Delgado; loving sister of Denise, Fabiola and Jazmin Castellanos; cherished aunt of Alexa, Lydia, Leslie, Noah, Alyssa, Michael, Sophia and Johnny; dearest granddaughter of Romelia Palomino, German Palomino, Cirina Delgado and the late Juan Delgado; fond friend to Jen Kish-Czerwinski; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at 9:30am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting; a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00am at Sacred Heart Church, Whiting, with the Rev. Jerome P. Stack, C.PP.S., officiating; cremation to follow; visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 to 9:00pm; wake service at the funeral home on Tuesday at 4:30pm.

Gabriella Castellanos was born on May 19, 1983 in Chicago, Illinois and was a resident of Whiting for the past 10 years. She was a graduate Curie Metropolitan High School, Class of 2001 and attended the Richard J. Daley City College. Gabriela was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran attaining the rank of corporal. She was an employee of the Horseshoe Casino with a service of seven years. An artist, Gabriela enjoyed all types of painting. A devoted daughter, sister and aunt, she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
